Cleveland Sports Insiders 2.25: Cleveland is a TribeTown

Start off a new week with IBI’s Sunday Night staple, Cleveland Sports Insiders…at 9:00 on BlogTalkRadio!!!

The Cleveland Sports Insiders will be rolling out the thunder today, as YOUR Cleveland Indians have clinched the #1 wildcard spot on the last day of the regular season.

It was no easy ride. To clinch homefield, the Indians only had to win their last ten ballgames, as all three teams with a shot at the wildcard played extremely well down the stretch. The boys will take a look at the Rays and the Rangers, who will play in a one-and-done playoff for the second wildcard spot on Monday. How will this shape the rotations for both teams, and who will get the all-important start for the Cleveland Indians?

The Indians have also already seemingly sold out Wednesday’s game, which poses an interesting questions: Why can’t the Indians do any damage during the regular season? While many say the fanbase is stagnant, does this point to happier times in 2014 for attendance?

Let’s go Tribe!!!!

That wasn’t the only big news in Cleveland on this September 29th. The Cleveland Browns upset the Cincinnati Bengals, and claimed a share of first place in the AFC North. Cleveland native Brian Hoyer continued to make a case for the full-time starting gig, and Jordan Cameron just may be the best tight end in football. That’s not hyperbole.

The Cleveland Cavs are also opening up camp this week, in what has become an EXTREMELY full week of sports!!!!

Jim KNOWS that Albert Belle deserved the MVP, and that the false prophet, Mo Vaughn did not. He thinks that Mike and Greg Pruitt are truly related, because, c'mon, what are the chances? He cries at least once a day, watching videos of LeBron's block, followed by Kyrie's shot. He loves miracles at Richfield, Ron Harper, parking at Gate D, Alex Cole park dimensions, and the glorious Kenny Lofton, who is the REAL Alex Cole. When he isn't writing or talking Cleveland sports for EHC, he moonlights as a husband, father, coach, teacher, Twitter screamer, golfer, runner, and lover of spaghetti carbonara. He also commutes from Raleigh to the North Coast, because it builds character
